BISHOP ELECTION PROCESS
On October 1, conference meetings were held with the intent to identify ten potential nominees for bishop. The top people in this voting who agreed to complete biographical and information sheets are presented to you as a way of providing at least some information in advance of the ecclesiastical ballot at the December 2, 2006 special assembly. Remember, balloting in December is not limited to these names; any ELCA pastor is eligible for consideration as a bishop candidate.
Due to a tie, we have eleven names being released to you by the Northeastern Ohio Synod Council on behalf of the Bishop Election Committee:
Pre-assembly materials, including the biographical and information sheets will be mailed the first week of November. Please continue to pray for our synod as we go through this election process. |
